Hey Lizards!

Thank you for listening to our album, and thank you for keeping Lizard Boy alive. It means so much to us.

I get inquiries about sheet music for Lizard Boy pretty often, and your desire to sing my songs is freaking amazing! Unfortunately, sheet music doesn’t exist…YET.

Actually, sheet music has never existed! For our first production at Seattle Rep, I wrote lyrics down, sometimes with chords above the lyrics, and taught every song to Bill and Kiki by ear. We then picked up guitars and sat at pianos and shook a tambourine, and we arranged and orchestrated on the fly like a garage band. We memorized those arrangements and orchestrations, maybe made a few notes in our scripts, and performed the show with almost no hard copy reference. I’m not saying this is the most efficient way to work (it’s not), but this was how we did it!

One day—probably very soon—sheet music will exist, however that is most likely to occur when we’ve frozen the score. We’re not quite there yet, because we’re revising and preparing for our Off-Broadway Premiere this summer, June 2023!
